Paracosm

Noun:

A detailed imaginary fantasy world, often invented by children; can have a definite geography and language
- something existing solely in the imagination (but often mistaken for reality)

Avalon 62 is, as an alias to the more commonly known Aerium, a more conceptual and experimental one. Trademarked by speedy, 140 bpm melodic, dream trance with a tech edge.

The debut album of this moniker “alphanumeric” was released in 2008 on the now defunct Futurestate records and focussed on the storytelling-element of a mixed set with each track being specifically designed for its numerical position in the album.

Paracosm is a continuation of this concept. Weaving a story or “world” together in a 10 track album that should be seen (or heard) as a whole, rather than merely a collection of individual tracks.

"I’m very pleased to see this release on the brand new TF Recordings. A forum (and now label) consisting of die-hard trance veterans and genuine connoisseurs of the genre. Set up to be a pro-active platform in releasing what we think is great trance music quote: “we desperately need more underground labels in Trance. Do we have less than a handful? It's not good, and rather than just complain for another decade we can attempt to try and be a small part of the solution”

As an active member of this community, I wholeheartedly agree. Only complaining about “the state of trance nowadays” isn’t going to make anything better or enjoyable for that matter. It's been an absolute pleasure working on not only the music in this album, but also being involved in the artwork, promo etc.
